 step by step white background

  1. Make sure the pots are clean and dry.
  2. Spread newspaper/dust sheets out in a well-ventilated working area or preferably outside.
  3. Apply PlastiKote Twist & Spray Primer first to seal the terracotta and prime the pots. Terracotta is porous and tends to absorb a lot of paint.
  4. Apply two to three coats of PlastiKote Twist & Spray in the colour of your choice. We chose Pink Burst, Exotic Sea and New Yellow.  Allow 5 – 10 minutes between coats.
  5. The pots will be touch dry in 30-50 minutes and thoroughly dry in 2-3 hours.
  6. Plant up and arrange for a colourful display – even before the flowers have bloomed!

Top tip: perfect prep for metal

When metal garden furniture looks past its best, a spray paint facelift is just the job. To get the best result, preparation is key.  Our top tip is to use a wire brush or wire wool to remove all flakes of old paint and rust. Wash down with soapy water to get rid of any dirt and grease and leave to completely dry before applying the spray paint.

Top Tip 300x600

Wire wool removes all the rust and leaves a smooth surface ready for re-spraying

Top Tip 2 300x600

A wire brush gets into all those awkward places and removes any flaky bits of rust.

Set your cakes off to perfection this summer by personalising a cake stand

You will need:

Dustsheets/newspaper

PlastiKote Fast Dry Enamel spray paint

composite 1

 How to:

  1. Wash the cake stand, removing any dust or sticky marks.
  2. Prepare your spraying area – the best place is outside with dustsheets or newspaper laid out to protect the surface. If indoors, wear a mask, make sure the room is well-ventilated and the spray area covered with dustsheets and newspaper.
  3. Turn each part of the cake stand upside down and spray the bottom with Fast Dry Enamel. We used FDE in Hot Pink, Sky Blue and Insignia Red. Allow to dry.
  4. Once completely dry, spray the top of each part of the cake stand. Allow to dry
  5. Make your favourite cupcakes.
  6. Assemble the cake stand, fill with your delicious cakes and invite your friends round for tea!

N.B. Always remember to follow the instructions on the can.
